Above: Christmas Painting For The Owner of Department 56. 20 x 25 inchesThis one was made specifically made for Edward Bazinet, (now former CEO) and founder of ‘Dept. 56’, the largest giftware company in the world. Due to the fact this is just a reference snapshot, the image presented here is slightly cropped and the original shows far more detail and extremely rich colors. Mr. Bazinet and I designed the concept together on a big dry erase boardroom wall in under 3 hours. During which, we took turns sketching it out. It is about Christmas time shopping in ‘Dickens’s world’, and includes buildings and many figurines from their Heritage Village Collection. This project, like so many other commissions, had a pressing deadline yet was delivered right on time. Mr. Bazinet retired about a year later. I would also like to express a hearty thanks to Mr. Hubbard Stout and Ms. Randi Jacobs who truly made this project a reality for Mr. Bazinet. Five Divisions of Superior Standards 1. Latest News is new and I will try to post featured articles and announcements. The image to the left is a commission of a friend's old farm on a frosty day. I am comfortable creating in the city or on the farm as my parents were farmers but I was born in Minneapolis/St. Paul, then raised near a woods on the edge of a rural Minnesota town. |
